There are many ways we can help shift the tide on this issue. Don’t underestimate your impact. Below are a few simple actions.

ATTEND MEETINGS WITH LOCAL CANDIDATES OR ELECTED OFFICIALS

First, head over to our merch store so you can arrive decked out in DIAG gear. Then…

Let your elected officials or Democratic candidates know there are many Democrats who do not agree with the party’s position on gender medicine and ideology. Print out our DIAG one-pager to refer to for talking points, or share it with others. Below are some questions to consider asking:

  1. Would you support or author a bill to keep men out of women’s prisons? (Many states now prioritize a man’s self-identified “gender” over the safety and dignity of women.)

  2. How would you vote on a bill preventing schools from sharing important information with parents about their own children?

  3. Activists claim that children who identify as trans are at high risk for suicide. Do you believe a parent shouldn’t be apprised of any condition that puts their child in this high-risk category? How are teachers, other students, or school administrators in a better position to take on the responsibility of ensuring their child's safety?

  4. In your view, who is best positioned to make decisions regarding a child's welfare — parents or teachers?

  5. Males have marked physical advantages in sports. They have longer bones, broad shoulders and narrow hips, far larger muscle mass, particularly in the upper body, and their muscles are built differently — they attach to bones more tightly and they receive movement signals differently. They have bigger hearts, a bigger lung surface, and can carry more oxygen around their bodies. These differences do not disappear if testosterone levels are lowered. Given this biological reality, what is your view on males competing in girls’ and women’s sports? Do you feel that women and girls deserve the opportunity to compete on a fair playing field, apart from males who have these distinct, natural advantages, and how will you ensure that women and girls have fair access to opportunities and achievement in sports?

  6. Would you support or author a bill that requires insurers to provide billing codes and fully cover medical care for detransitioners?

  7. Are you aware of The Cass Review — the U.K.’s four-year systematic review, released in April, 2024, that found no evidence that opposite-sex hormones or surgeries improved well-being for kids? If so, has this review changed your understanding of the medical pathway for gender-distressed young people? What is your reaction to the finding that social transition is not benign and is a serious psychosocial intervention?

  8. What is your view on schools introducing the concept of “gender identity” or teaching students that it is possible to change sex?

  9. Would you support or author a bill that extends the statute of limitations for malpractice claims brought against gender clinicians by detransitioners?

  10. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) — the organization responsible for guiding policy on ”gender-affirming care” — has been discredited. Documents leaked in March 2024 have shown that the organization participated in circular referencing/citation laundering, and are fully aware of the damage to young people and vulnerable adults caused by puberty blockers, hormones and surgeries, including liver cancer, sterility, and sexual dysfunction. How would you propose we hold WPATH accountable?

  11. Admiral Levine, HHS Assistant Secretary, influenced the authors of the WPATH Standards of Care for gender medicine to remove age limits for all gender-focused medical interventions, including surgeries, placing thousands of children in danger of irreparable harm. There is no evidence that these extreme, irreversible interventions are safe or effective. Are you in favor of Levine being fired from this position?

CONVERSATIONS WITH TEACHERS AND AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS

Schools have played a significant role in spreading misinformation to our youth and keeping secrets from parents about the mental health of their child. Health class materials are often steeped in ideological, indoctrinating content that denies biological reality.

There are steps you can take to stem the tide of misinformation and protect your children.

  1. Request to review curriculum. In some states, you can ask for your child to be excused from non-academic classes that introduce or promote the idea of a “gender identity.”

  2. Talk to other parents and attend school board meetings as a group. Remind school staff that social transition is not a neutral act, and provide highlights of The Cass Review findings. Other helpful resources for parents can be found here:

Questions to consider asking:

  1. What gender-related teaching materials are used in class?

  2. Where do these policies and materials come from?  Who teaches these classes?

  3. While drugs and surgeries can make females look more stereotypically masculine and males look more stereotypically feminine, no one can change their sex. There are only two sexes based on whether a body is structured to produce sperm or eggs — male and female. Genetic disorders do not represent a third sex, which would require a third type of gamete. What is the school's position on the reality of biological sex?

  4. Are you aware that in response to The Cass Review, the British government is explicitly instructing teachers to stop teaching “the contested theory of gender identity” or the idea of a gender “spectrum”?

  5. How does the school handle a request from a student to change their name and/or pronouns? Are you aware that this is considered a serious psychosocial intervention? What are the qualifications of the staff initiating, participating in, or managing these interventions?

  6. Given the concerns about self-harm in adolescents who adopt a “gender identity,” do you ensure that parents are notified when their child requests name or pronoun changes at school? What is your policy if parents do not give permission for these changes?

  7. There are over 54,000 members on the detransition discussion board on Reddit and a 2024 study out of Germany showed a desistance rate of over 70% after 5 years for 15-19 year olds that had adopted a “gender identity”. Is the school aware of the growing numbers of detransitioners who regret transitioning?
